Problem Gambling and Drugs & Alcohol

Problem gambling has a high correlation to heavy drinking and drinking problems are associated with higher levels of spending on gambling and reports of gambling problems. If you or someone you know has a problem with alcohol, drugs or gambling, there are services available to help you get on the road to recovery.

Adolescent Substance Abuse Minor Consent Program
Substance abuse is a difficult issue that often goes unaddressed. Through our CalWORKs Program and Adolescent Substance Abuse Minor Consent Programs (Minor Consent), AACI offers culturally sensitive and linguistically competent behavioral health services for both adults and youth facing substance abuse. Services combine a psycho-educational and therapeutic component that empowers clients and their families with tools toward healthier living.

Services Offered

Counseling. Individual, group and family counseling to assist clients toward achieving their recovery goals and increasing their knowledge and awareness of the following:

  • Substance abuse
  • Relapse prevention
  • Self-empowerment
  • Family conflict resolution
  • Community resources
  • The 12-step philosophy

Outpatient clinic. Substance abuse assessment and treatment, medication evaluation and management, sobriety maintenance and follow-up.
Case management. Assessment of addictive behavior and co-existing disorders.
Referrals to various community resources and support services.
Psycho-Education. Education on addiction issues, relapse prevention, mental health issues, coping and social skills, parenting issues, acculturation issues and anger management.
